Check These First

Visual Studio Code

Make sure SecureZip is installed and up to date in your Visual Studio Code environment.

Workspace

Open the folder or workspace that you want to export before running SecureZip.

Ignore Rules

Review .gitignore and .securezipignore. These files control which files are excluded from the archive.

FAQ

I do not want a file included in the ZIP archive.

Add the file pattern to .gitignore or .securezipignore. .securezipignore is the SecureZip-specific ignore file.

The ZIP archive is not created.

Confirm that a workspace is open, the destination is writable, and the ignore rules have not excluded every file.

Are Auto Commit and Tagging required?

No. You can configure auto-commit and tagging behavior in SecureZip settings.

Are project files sent to external servers?

No. SecureZip creates ZIP archives locally and does not send workspace data to servers operated by the developer.

Troubleshooting

  • Update Visual Studio Code and SecureZip to the latest available versions.
  • Restart Visual Studio Code.
  • Review .gitignore and .securezipignore rules.
  • Confirm that the destination folder is writable.
  • If Git features fail, confirm that the target folder is a Git repository and Git is available in your environment.
